Hopefully the beta will run well on virtual machines.

But from what I've seen so far I'm not very impressed by metro and I hope that it can be switched off so you can use the same interface Windows 7 has.

Re: Windows 7 Games

where to download?
Re: Get The Windows 8 Consumer Preview Wallpapers For Windows 7

i like it, best information...

Re: Windows 7 Forum: What’s Your Windows Experience Score?

Processor: 7.8 (i7 3960X OC 4.6 GHz)
Memory: 7.9 (32GB Corsair Vengeance 4 channels)
Graphics: 7.9 (nVidia GTX 580)
Gaming: 7.9
Primary Hard Disk: 7.9 (Corsair Force 3 240GB)

Not sure what it takes to get 7.9 on processor, a 5G OC?

Re: Misc - Windows 7 News & Tips

Win7: Windows 7 News portal. So much so that I bought an Apple Magic TrackPad for my kids' MacMini, and they also love it and have never ever used the mouse ever since I installed the Magic TrackPad. In fact, I will buy one Magic TrackPad for my new Windows 7 desktop which should arrive in a few days. Even if the range of multi-touch gestures will be limeted compared to Mac OS X, just the 2-finger up and down scrolling, the 2-finger left and right (back and forward) web browsing, plus the clickable entire pad plus the 2-finger click for a right click is worth the xpense.
Antonio

Re: Shortcut To Create New Folders In Windows 7

thnx
Re: Windows 8 Feature Wishlist

Good old AMIGA's DoubleClick-to-Front commodity is on my wishlist!

Re: What are the differences between Windows 8 on Intel and ARM

ARM processors are used in the vast majority of smartphones and tabletssold with the release of Windows 8 will run on ARM chips as well asIntel chips.

Re: Tron and Strange Art Wallpapers for Windows7 Themes

Very nice collection's of wallpapers.

Re: How To Enable And Use Windows 7 Aero Features

i cant see the "enable aero peek" or any other aero options in there. The darn thing has been stuck for 12 hours now. How does a person get this computer to cooperate right ?

Re: Why Windows 8 Tablets Will Have The Edge Over Android Tablets

I think that especially businesses will start to use Windows
8 tablets. It integrates perfectly with their current infrastructure. It can be
controlled by IT, x86 applications can probably be streamed to ARM tablets without
the need for Xenapp or View, Office works natively and does not require reverse
engineered software. Add to that bitlocker on a phone and you can implement a
much better security than you would be able to do with Android out of the box.

Re: Start Menu Orb Hidden In Latest Windows 8 Builds

This blog has some great info, but it always seems to have a negative tone. Gets me down.
I use Windows 8 as my primary machine now and I'm in love. And quite amazed how stable it is for a pre-beta.Anyhoo, I don't think of the start menu as being gone, it's now just full-screen. And it's still how I see my seldom-used apps and control panel.I do wonder, however, what will happen when I RDP to a Windows 8 box if I can't see the start button.
Also, it erked me at first that I couldn't make the desktop the default. But now I've adjusted, I start windows, click on the app I want (or just to start to type the app name if it's not a tile) and it's up. Fast. @MHazell - if you want zero changes from Windows 7 then I highly recommend Windows 7 as the operating system for you.

Re: The Coolest Windows 8 Watch Concept

okay a touch screen watch with full colour led display would be great and being able to play music on it would also be great, however you could never reasonably use a device with such a small screen to reasonably do much beyond that, a 3 inch screen is about what ipod nanos give you anyway so music no poblem and its screen is bigger than most normal watches are now but its not usable for internet or phone or anything else though. if it did get made though what kind of storage would it have?

Re: Guides - Windows 8 News, Rumors & Tips

The notation travelled from France to England, where it became standard,
although at least one journal did not change from using C to I until 1896

Re: Start Menu Orb Hidden In Latest Windows 8 Builds

Hmm, my other comment get removed. There's certainly room for more than just

one type of user experience in the vast install base of Windows. And after

all, happy customers are loyal customers. Microsoft risks marginalizing the

Windows brand by forcing upon the world a single vision of how people should

interact with Windows-based computing devices.
