  • brooks · 11 months ago
This is terrific way to instantly get a windows beta. thanks a lot really.
  • CD · 11 months ago
no been using this method correctly for two hours now and still nothing...its like the lottery!!!!!
  • TheDarkAce · 11 months ago
it'll probably work better if you use a custom timer and have it refresh every 5 seconds instead
  • Jimmy · 11 months ago
those links listed, um don't work for me :-/
  • remma · 11 months ago
did anybody have any luck already?
  • cd · 11 months ago
no not working been trying this method for hours
  • panki_86 · 11 months ago
I've got the key for x64 with refresh every 5sec after 3 hours of cheking
  • panki_86 · 11 months ago
Sorry with refresh rate four 2sec!
  • pank_86 · 11 months ago
Microsoft will wisen up to this very shortly and stop it for good
  • c0d3w4lk3r · 11 months ago
I'm being re-directed to http://www.microsoft.com/en/us/default.aspx. Is this normal? If so how the hell can I use the FF plgg-in to check for changes?
  • Vipa · 11 months ago
You need to sign in first at tech net.The sign in page is somewhere near the top. Use your windows live id
And  to use it highlight the error message when it comes up, right click, choose check for change, 15 seconds and it will start checking.
  • c0d3w4lk3r · 11 months ago
When I go to the technet site I'm already logged in. Then I C/P the URL for the 64b key and that's when I'm re-directed to the other page. No error pages what so ever...
  • DDS · 11 months ago
Got 2 legit keys (one for 32bit and one for 64bit) using this method, so I can tell that it really works.
When you enter one of the urls, you should be redirected to  https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/produc... (for 32bit, win7-64 for 64bit) which shows error message. Keep refreshing that page until you get the key (or use Check4Change as suggested).
  • no it doesnt work people · 11 months ago
no this is not working ,well it is for one person out of every 100,000 trying it so good luck
  • Daniel · 11 months ago
    Hi guys!

Yes, the refresh method works. I want to add, that I did NOT use the firefox extension, but I did refresh 3 windows at the same time. I was working as well, only when I saw the tabs finished loading I quickly switched over and refreshed.

I got one key in about 30 minutes, however I almost refreshed the good page as well, so be careful!

    Daniel
  • Andrew · 11 months ago
Hey guys currently using the firefox method and all is well, is there a specific length of time this is going to take?

    Many Thanks
  • 4062f67 · 11 months ago
  • Michael · 11 months ago
    Yup
Appears the link is now dead. Dang those Microsoft folks for cutting us off at every pass.
  • MSisBest · 11 months ago
I got four keys doing this method:

    3 for 32 bit
    and 1 for 64 bit.

and i got them in like, 15 minutes.
    woahah!
  • Arthur · 11 months ago
    The link is not dead.

I just signed in to technet and then pasted the 32-bit key url into IE. It worked first time :). I now have a key.

It even provided an updated download link.
  • Rafael · 11 months ago
  • MRA · 11 months ago
Works like a charm. Got both a 64 bit and 32 bit key on the first try.
  • toliman · 11 months ago
ahh, just followed these tips from DDS, was a bit anxious about getting a key after having installed it a week ago,  like so many others :) , but no real drama at all using the new link, got it on the 3rd reload.Â
  • Static · 11 months ago
    Just got one now!
Didn't need to get the FF add-on.
I just went on the link, and got it.
    =D
  • Dave · 11 months ago
Yep. Got both an x64 and x86 key.
  • Stirkage · 11 months ago
    Confirmed both links now working.
  • Allexis · 11 months ago
Hello. did anyone of you use a key provided by microsoft`s site with the versions of windows 7 available right now on torrents - like build 7000 or build 69** (the ones which initially expire on 07.02.2009 without key?) what happened then? did those versions changed their expiring date to 1.08.2009? i`m curious if i could use a beta 7000 release instead of the official RC1 which Microsoft seems not to be able to publish for downloading on their site. P.S.: Is the Build 7000 the Release Candidate 1 of Windows 7 or not? Thanks!
  • Static · 11 months ago
Nothing happens when I click on the 'Download Now' button.
The page only seems to reload.
It is me, or is it down?
  • kanwar · 11 months ago
ya, seems like microsoft solved the problem. got a key for myself on the first try.
  • aaaa · 11 months ago
Both links don't work for me :(
  • Danny · 11 months ago
I tried that method for about an hour last night with no luck but got both keys first try right now :-) thanks!!
  • Mark · 11 months ago
Yay! Got a key now, however I couldn't get the download to work, when I click on the button it just reloads the page, anyone else having this problem?
  • Danny · 11 months ago
@Mark yeah same issue but no worries we have keys now, just hold on to the key until the downloads are back up at Microsoft.
  • bnc · 11 months ago
    thank you so much
  • Mark · 11 months ago
Cheers Danny, just have to wait then :)
  • kanwar · 11 months ago
    @mark
yes, download link not yet working. but more important is that the keys are available now. although the windows 7 website is still the old one with no updates on it.
  • dudeman · 11 months ago
Just worked for me! 9:25am Central Time
Download doesn't work, but i'm currently downloading from a torrent anyways.
  • Guillermo · 11 months ago
Worked for me. Got a 32-bit key after maybe an hour of reloading at 5-second intervals.
  • Danny · 11 months ago
Look at the Green Demon under Windows 7 beta 1, click one of the files uploaded yesterday and there will be direct download links, for 32 and 64, from Microsoft for the Windows 7. Instead of using torrents
  • KTB · 11 months ago
    Thanks Man. Works great.
  • gaetano marano - NewSpaceAgenc · 11 months ago
    .

I've read that Windows 7 will be released only in October (or LATER) so, there's enough time for Google to (finally) release its ("rumored") 100% FREE GoOS, of which you can find a (simulated) version here: http://newgoos.blogspot.com/2008/09/goos-screen...

    .

  • fff · 11 months ago
    ahh, microsoft... this better work:

    1.

Turn on the computer running your current edition of Windows, and then insert the installation disc into the computer's CD or DVD drive.

    2.

On the Install Windows menu, click Install now.

    3.

On the Get important updates for installation page, we recommend getting the latest updates to help ensure a successful installation and to help protect your computer against security threats. You must be connected to the Internet to receive installation updates. This page might not appear if your computer is not connected to the Internet.

    4.

On the Type your product key for activation page, we strongly recommend that you type your 25-character product key to help avoid problems during activation.

    5.

On the Please read the license terms page, if you accept the license terms, click I accept the license terms.

    6.

On the Which type of installation do you want? page, click Custom.

    7.

On the Where do you want to install Windows page, select the partition or disk where you want to install the new Windows operating system.

    8.

Click Next to begin the installation. You might see a compatibility report
  • fff · 11 months ago
yea uhh that was instructions for duel boot
  • josh · 11 months ago
i triple boot booted with vista boot loader
  • fff · 11 months ago
so does windows 7 have a new boot loader?
  • fdhealy4 · 11 months ago
I downloaded win7 beta from one of the direct connections posted and got my product key as instructed above. Once setup starts I get the following dialog box and the install will go no further.     "Windows could not collect information for (OSImage) since the specific image file (install.wim) does not exist."  What do I do about this?
  • fff · 11 months ago
did you actually burn it onto a DVD? or did u mount it with a prog. like Daemon tools?
  • fdhealy4 · 11 months ago
I burned it to a dvd then booted the dvd to install the program.
  • Fatal Error · 11 months ago
You have a bad burn of the ISO file. If you using a program such as Nero, slow it down to 4x or 6x speed. I'm not sure why these are so finicky, but solves the problem. Visat beta did the same thing, just not quite as bad. Slowing down the burn speed should do it.
  • MSisBest · 11 months ago
Aren't the direct downloads no good? I'm using bittorent to download my copy and then burn it. I tried direct and it only totaled a 500 mb file, which is not right.
  • William · 11 months ago
I was getting ready to do this, then I got a beta key on the first try :)
  • Michael · 11 months ago
    The main site
    https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/productkeys/win7-64/enus/default.aspx
appears to be back up. with the download launcher trying to start the download of the beta.
However, the download is not starting and it keeps cycling back to the beginning, and issuing me a new key each time. So far,i've written down about 10 codes. All trying to get the download to start.......
  • Bas · 11 months ago
I've downloaded it (the 32 version) and it works. In the beginning it also doesn't work, but later it works. At that time, I also had already 10 keys.
  • Bas · 11 months ago
Here is the direct download link for the 32-bit version:
    http://wb.dlservice.microsoft.com/dl/download/6/3/3/633118BD-6C3D-45A4-B985-F0FDFFE1B021/EN/7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULFRE_EN_DVD.iso

I'm installing it at the moment, and thus far it's working.
  • Mark · 11 months ago
@Michael: Are you using Firefox, if so try IE, I found that Firefox doesn't like the applet they use for downloading and just reloads the page, IE is working for me at the moment.
  • Michael · 11 months ago
I was using IE 7 on my Vista machine.  I got the whole process to take when I used the IE8 beta on my laptop. Funny that. but now i have both 32 bit and 64 bit ISO files straight from Microsoft and as a bonus, about 10 keys to try them with :)

Its now suggested that there is no longer a 2.5 million limit on Product Keys, instead Microsoft are serving genric keys. Rumoured that the downloads could be capped to 2.5 million.

Funny, I got my key the very first time I visited the page!
  • Aya · 11 months ago
I tried downloading it from the ms page listed above, got the key,but when i tried downloading it,nothing happened
  • James · 11 months ago
through the microsoft website, i could not download the 32bit or the 64 bit windows 7 beta using firefox 3.0.5 because ms tries to install an activeX control (download manager) which does not work in firefox. subsequently I tried to do the same thing using IE7 64 bit version and it also did not install the plugin properly because it is a 32bit plugin. I was only able to get the plugin to install properly and launch the download manager process using IE7 32bit. I also disabled my comodo firewall temporarily. Hope that helps someone else out there having problems.
  • Dominic Naylor · 11 months ago
    THANK YOU James!

    I tried FireFox 3 times; 3 times it stopped (86MB, 302MB, 37MB).

    Torrent to way to Slow.

    The James way works great!

    Thank You
